Nested Strategies is owned by Fred Levinson and operated in association with world-class programmers, designers and illustrators.
Fred's career in electronic commerce stretches back to the beginning of the Internet, when he served as Vice President for a Cambridge travel company invited to establish an online travel service for Delphi, a fledgling online service. Convinced that the global reach and instantaneous publication capabilities of the technology had immense implications for the travel industry, he founded Interactive Office Services.
IOS pioneered many online services, including establishing the first discount travel service, the first online cruise database, the first online tour packages database and many early entrants in other areas. The company produced one of the first, live, real-time auctions, operated as a fund raising mechanism for WGBH. IOS designed one of the first interfaces for an airline reservation system. It designed and championed services for Boston University's School of Education, for Raytheon, for The Boston Phoenix (online personals), for a local grocery store which provided delivery of items from its online catalogue, and services for WCRB (a Boston classical radio station that mounted a searchable playlist),
For eighteen years, the company operated ATbM (A Trip by Modem), an online agency that provided discount travel services to thousands of customers around the world. The service featured a searchable database of more than one million unpublished international fares, offered by consolidators throughout the U.S.
Following the collapse of the travel industry after 9/11, Fred continued his work in online marketing, adding to his repetoire the many services now offered by Nested Strategies.
